A deposit of 400 USD is required at the time of booking. The balance payment is then required no later than 60 days prior to tour start date. If you book less than 60 days prior to tour start date, full payment is required.

Visa requirements for Mongolia depend on your nationality. Some countries have visa-free entry, while others are required a visa in advance. A visa request can be electronically submitted here for most countries. Check here or with the Mongolian embassy or consulate in your country for the most up-to-date information.

Only the Mongolian Tugrik is accepted, and it can be withdrawn from ATMs at the airport or anywhere in Ulaanbaatar. Alternatively, we recommend bringing EUR or USD, the most widely accepted and exchanged currencies, to exchange at the airport currency exchange or any bank in the city. The best time to travel to Mongolia is during the summer months (June to August), when the weather is warm and pleasant, with average day and night temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C and 7°C to 10°C, respectively. The weather in the Gobi Desert is most pleasant throughout September, in addition to summer months.

No, you will need to bring your own sleeping bag. We recommend bringing a bag with a grade of least 3-season. If preferred, you can rent such quality sleeping from us for additional 40 USD for the entire tour.

No, trekking poles aren't provided. You can rent trekking poles for additional 20 USD for the entire tour.


For domestic flights, the maximum carry-on and check-in baggage allowances are 5 kg and 15 kg, respectively, totaling 20 kg. Any excess baggage fee, which costs about 2 USD per kg, can be paid directly at the airport.

Yes, bike rental is included in the price. We provide 27.5-inch Giant XTC 820-860 series with front suspension, 3x10 gear, hydraulic brakes, and Shimano Deore components. Bikes are regularly maintained and are in very good condition.

The average day and night temperatures in the Altai Mountains through June–August will be 15°C–25°C (59°F–77°F) and 5°C–10°C (41°F–50°F), respectively. However, the possibility of unexpected colder weather dictated by the mountain range’s microclimate, as well as a chance of rain and snow, aren't excluded.

In summer, the average temperatures in the Gobi Desert range from 20°C to 35°C (68°F to 95°F) during the day, and can drop to 5°C to 15°C (41°F to 59°F) at night.

Switching to another guaranteed departure with available spots is possible. However, we will need to check the availability of all local services, especially if the tour involves local transport such as domestic flights or train rides, which can be limited during the summer months due to high demand. Please note, you will also be responsible for cancellation fees and penalties for all local services of the original tour.
